Vanilla Bean Sugar Tea Cake – Perfect Sunday baking!
185 g butter, at room temperature
400 g caster sugar
2 tsp vanilla bean paste
450 g self-raising flour
1 cup of milk
2 tsp ground cinnamon
2-3 Tbs Heilala Vanilla Bean sugar for dusting
30 g melted butter, extra
Preheat oven to 180C. Grease and line the base of your round cake tin.
With an electric mixer beat your butter, sugar and vanilla in a large bowl until pale and creamy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in your flour and milk until all ingredients have combined.
Spoon the mixture into your cake tin. Bake in oven for approximately 30 minutes, until your skewer comes out clean.
Turn the cake onto a wire rack and evenly brush with extra butter. Sprinkle with your Heilala vanilla sugar. Serve warm or at room temperature.
