There really isn’t anything mysterious about self raising flour, just three simple ingredients, but it can be annoying for people who rely on it to realise they don’t have any in the pantry.
If you were needing a large quantity, rather than measure out the ingredients it’s better to weigh them. Weigh 1 cup of flour and take note of it. Weigh 1 1/2 tsp of the baking powder, again taking note of it and then weigh the salt. Double, triple etc the weighed quantities as needed.
1 cup plain flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
Simply mix the three ingredients together and viola! Self raising flour.
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- Simply mix all three ingredients together and there you have it... self raising flour
