How to cook bacon in the oven
 
 
This method has been a game changer for me. The bacon comes out perfectly crisp every time, plus, in the morning I get to put the bacon in the oven and then go back to bed to read for 12 minutes or so – nice and relaxed.

Ingredients
  • 4 bacon rashers (or 2 per person)
  • greaseproof paper
  • kitchen towel
Method
DO NOT pre heat the oven. It must be a cold oven.
  1. Line a shallow baking tray with greaseproof paper.
  2. Lay the bacon on the tray.
  3. Place the tray of bacon into the oven on the middle shelf and then turn the oven on to 220°C / 430°F
  4. Cook for about 12 -15 minutes* See notes
  5. Remove from the oven and drain on kitchen towel.
Notes
*Times will depend on thickness of the bacon. For the first time, check on the bacon at 10 minutes and then cook for longer if necessary. Remember, the bacon will crisp up further once drained of the fat so make sure not to over cook it in the oven.
